Esports events are things that I have been interested in for quite some time now. There are major events held all around the world regularly, and I really do enjoy watching them. While esports has not quite reached the level of spectator sport that the more physical sports have, I really do think that it will only be a few more years before it does. Sites like http://esportsjunkie.com do an excellent job of covering the many different competitions that occur year round in the esports world, and so that is a place that I regularly go to when I want to get all of the latest news on my favorite game competitions. There are also a few competitors that I have grown to like the best, and so I have started to have a rooting interest in the different events. That is something that has made watching the competitions that much more exciting to me.
I think Overwatch is probably my favorite game to watch. Thanks to the internet, I am able to keep track of all of my favorite teams and their rosters before, during, and after the competitions. Without having websites dedicated to covering these competitions, they would likely go completely unnoticed, and I would be missing out on what I now find to be one of my favorite pastimes. By being able to stay in the loop, I can get a good idea about what I ought to expect whenever a competition is about to begin.
I can compare the rosters of the many different teams in order to fully understand who has an advantage and who does not. This makes watching the competitions that much better, as I am able to watch and see if my different predictions will end up holding up. While the field of competition is generally pretty balanced, there are always a few teams that seem to have more talent and skill on their rosters than others.
With the knowledge of the games that I am able to gain through the internet, I find that the actual competitions are a whole lot more rewarding for me to watch. I have not tried it yet, but there are actually ways to bet on the competitions, as well. Maybe I will give that a shot one of these days. In the meantime, I just enjoy watching good gaming.
